This behind‑the‑meter battery energy storage system (BESS) in Kingman, Arizona enhances grid stability by storing electricity and delivering it during periods of peak demand or outages, thereby reducing the risk of brownouts and blackouts. Developed for Nucor to support a major bar‑mill expansion and a new electric arc furnace, the system operates under a 20‑year Storage Services Agreement, and will be paired with a 25 MW AC solar asset coming online in 2026.
