CounterpointeSRE has been awarded a 2026 Financial Innovation award by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Better Buildiings and Better Plants Initiative!
CounterpointeSRE was recognized for our work in closing the first C-PACE for new construction in New York City for Echelon Studios, an industrial-scale production studio in Brooklyn, NY that is expected to outperform the energy code by more than 15%.
Key building features include:
- Fully electric with design achieving > 15% energy performance over NYC code
- Projected 25% on-site power generation through 1,254 kW combined solar systems
- HVAC and mechanical systems that include numerous VFDs and VRF air-cooled heat pumps
- Air curtains for increased air quality and energy efficiency
- Energy wheel recovery unit to recapture waste air heat
- Combined 10 state-of-the-art sound stages with almost 300,000 sq. ft. of support, office, and mill space
As noted by Better Buildings, CounterpointeSRE’s “efforts created a framework for addressing challenges related to stakeholder coordination and regulatory complexity, lowering barriers to implementation for future projects.”
